sound therapy sessions

This offering promotes deep listening experiences incorporating sound therapy and mindfulness meditation. Participants are invited to lay down on yoga mats and keep their eyes closed for the duration of the session while gongs, Himalayan singing bowls and tuning forks are played around and on their bodies, becoming themselves an instrument for sound to resonate through.

Sound therapy sessions create an experience of un-layering; this kind of sensation, or state, is induced by the deactivation of the brain’s Beta frequency, which focuses our attention on external reality, tuning into brainwave frequencies that promote auto-regulation. These include Alpha frequency, associated with light meditation and a relaxed state of mind; Theta frequency, related to a deep state of meditation, creativity, and tranquility; Alpha-Theta border, considered optimal for healing; Delta frequency, where the brain consumes energy at a very low rate.

sound mind yoga practices

Moira Lo Bianco’s work addresses stress and its detrimental impact on humans’ health and wellness; she holds space by facilitating therapeutic experiences that incorporate Sound Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, and Yoga practices.

Sound-Mind-Yoga: In individual and group sessions, this offering integrates sound therapy with mindfulness meditation, yoga asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (yoga breathwork). These practices are designed to merge physical movement with the breath, moving energy in the body and fostering physiological and mental strength and stability, with an emphasis on healing and balance, focusing on trauma-informed practices including restorative and yin yoga. Sessions are tailored to clients’ bodies, with respect for their injuries, illnesses, and physical limitations.

Sound-Mind-Nidra: In individual and group sessions, this offering integrates sound therapy with mindfulness meditation and the motionless “Nidra” style of yoga, a threefold methodology to activate the branch of the central nervous system that calms the body through the parasympathetic response. This is also known as the deeply reparative “rest and digest” state. This experience emphasizes listening, using both sound and silence and engaging body and mind alike.

sound-REIKI sessions

This offering combines Sound Therapy techniques with Reiki - an ancient, gentle, hands-on energy healing therapy. Reiki is a precise method that connects life force energy with the body's natural healing ability. It infuses the body with a concentrated amount of vital life energy, which helps to restore balance on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.

sound therapy training

A Certificate Program for Medical and Holistic Healthcare Providers presented by Moira Lo Bianco and certified by the Bioregulatory Medicine Institute. Coursework covers ancient healing practices, specifically mind-body practices grounded in sound, that help the body and the mind to auto-regulate.

Moira is currently offering two modules of this program:

1) Application of Sound Therapy in Clinical Settings: This certificate course is certified by the Bioregulatory Medicine Institute and is designed for medical and holistic practitioners who wish to incorporate sound therapy into their clinical practice.

2) Application of Sound Therapy in Somatic Practices: This certificate course is designed for movement-based practitioners who aim to incorporate sound therapy into their somatic practice. This course is certified by the Bioregulatory Medicine Institute and is valid for CE credits with Yoga Alliance.

After completing the two-day in-person training, attendees will be awarded a certificate of attendance, which serves as recognition for their participation. It is important to note that this certificate does not qualify them to practice sound therapy beyond their current profession or level of expertise.
