I created this page to share my ethno-musicological research on Brazilian pianist and composer Francisca 'Chiquinha' Gonzaga. For whom is not familiar with the subject, Ethnomusicology is the study of music in its cultural context and requires the presence of the researcher ‘on field’. That's why I’ve traveled to Brazil, where I connected with local musicians and immersed myself in the culture. The music scene in Brazil is very organic and often picks up spontaneously! I want to thank all the amazing people and institutions that contributed to this work, including: Alexandre Dias, Paulo Aragão, Casa do Choro,Beatriz Paes Leme, Instituto Moreira Salles, Maria Teresa Madeira, Leandro Braga, Cesar Garabini, Grant Ziolkowski, Sergio Krakowski, Vitor Gonçalves, Andrea Dettorre, Rakel Barros and Berklee College of Music for awarding me the Berklee Faculty Fellowship Grant.
